Carrying on the Mission: Follow-up Action Plans
In order for the seeds of Soy catequista to bear fruit for catechetical ministry, these steps have been taken:
- Soy Catequista Leadership Council
The formation of a council will ensure continuation of the work begun at the consultation . Participants expressed the hope that the consultation process will be implemented across the country. - DVD and workbook
To facilitate this effort, the entire proceeding was recorded on video. Sadlier will produce a DVD and workbook that can be used throughout the country to emphasize the importance of catechists in the mission of the Church, and to share ideas about effective catechetical approaches in Latino communities. - www. soycatequista.com
The website is also an important communication tool. - Spreading the Word
- The talk given by Bishop Ricardo Ramirez was summarized in the December 2, 2006 issue of Catholic Trends.
- An article about Soy catequista, written by Dr. Jerry Baumbach, will appear in the May/June issue of Catechist magazine.
